BA in English and history from Spelman College
MA in English from the University of Kansas

Alysha Griffin received a BA in English and history from Spelman College and a MA in English from the University of Kansas. After completing her Masters, Alysha worked as the Program Manager at the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History and served as an instructor of English at Paine College, both located in Augusta, GA.

Alysha trains at the Actor’s Training Studio in Overland Park, Kansas and works with KU’s Project on the History of Black Writing (ProjectHBW)—an archive dedicated to the recovery and study of black novels. Her areas of interest include African American theatre and performance, acting, stage adaptations, and performance theory.
